Meme Is Not Impressed

The Meme
My inspiration for this meme was to use Mr. Heagney's head because of something he did in class. For my class, he accidentally made the project due March 7th instead of February 7th, and because of that he moved the assignment back another week since he messed up the dates. As nice as that was, and as appreciative as I am, I knew I had to poke some fun at him and make a meme out of it. Out of all the teachers I have had, he seems the most receptive to having a meme made out of him, so I hope he does not get mad. My idea about having him be a weather man came to me because weathermen and women are always wrong, they are notorious for it. Since he was wrong, I decided to go that route with my meme.

My Process
I started off this project with saving a picture off of Mr. Heagney's Facebook. I found one that I could easily manipulate and crop so that it fit onto the head of the weatherman. Since the photo was a headshot, it was even easier to manipulate. I first cropped the head using the lasso tool, the polygonal one. After I did this, I converted the cropped image of the head to a smart object so that I can put it over the background. For the background, I went to the local Fox 8 news and weather website and just took a screenshot of the man reporting the weather via the livestream. From that screenshot, I uploaded it to photoshop and cropped it. Then, I inserted the smart object into the same page and went to the transform tool to resize the image and physically put it where I wanted it to go. My cropping abilities and lasso tool abilities are mediocre at best. I noticed that my cropping skills were not the best, I placed his head where I wanted it on the weatherman and used the blur tool to make it seem like he fit better onto the man, a more natural appeal. After that I just added text with the text tool and picked the right font and I was complete!

Videos That Helped
The video that helped me the most was the transform video that gave you an overview of the transform feature, and more importantly, where to find it! This is how I did the bulk of my editing. It would have been more helpful if there was a video on how to convert things to smart objects and how to manipulate the lasso tool more in depth. Another video I found helpful was the one that talked about editing facial features, like blurring the skin and colorizing it. This is where I found the blur tool and tried to use it to the best of my abilities.

What I Learned
Throughout this process, I learned how to convert an image to a smart object, crop the background, and copy layers. After watching the videos I learned how to use the blur tool and the transform tool. Overall, this was hard and I am hoping I retained some of it.

Meme

I was having a lot of trouble uploading the actual jpg file because my hard drive got corrupted, so I just had to insert an iphone picture of it here. I know the quality of the photo is not great, and the meme might be either, but I tried my best!
