My Overview

My Life Before HPU
Hi everybody! My name is Ava Wentworth and I am from a small town in New Jersey called Tewksbury. Contrary to the popular debate, central Jersey does exist, and that is where Tewksbury is located. The county, Hunterdon County, is a vast majority of farm land. With that being said, I have a love for animals, mainly cats. My house is located on quite a few acres, so most of my past time is spend riding go karts and quads in my backyard with my brother and dad! Other hobbies of mine include cooking with my dad, painting, and organizing. In general, I am a very dedicated person in all my endeavors and take academics seriously, because I like to learn. I am very fascinated by all aspects of life. Growing up I was very family oriented, and I still am. My family is my biggest supporter, and my younger brother and I are best friends. I miss them a lot here at High Point, but they will always be the central part of my life no matter where I am.

I decided to come to High Point University in November of 2017 and applied early action! I fell in love with the school, and it was the last one I visited and knew right away my heart was set on here. I was hesitant to join a sorority when I first got here, but I pushed myself to do so and I am proud to say I am a member of Alpha Chi Omega! I spend most of my time here volunteering, working with the sorority which I love, and hanging out with my big. When I am not helping out in the sorority, I am usually doing homework. I love to learn and get a sense of accomplishment when I complete tasks, so homework for me is not a drag. I am majoring in broadcast journalism and have a passion for wanting to learn how to edit, film, broadcast, and speak.

After High Point, I plan on trying to obtain a broadcaster position hopefully for a news network. I am open to anywhere my job may take me, however, I do want to try and stay near my family because they are a huge part of my life. After college I am moving to Daytona Beach, Florida with my family.

Swatchy Schemey

Overview This week in class it was our task to play around with colors, hues, and creating swatches and name plates in InDesign. Our task was to go out and take a picture of something in nature that would inspire us to create a swatch of the main colors apparent in the picture. After we created that swatch using a three by three grid, we had to create a fade or tint to the colors as they went down the row. We took these same colors and made name plates with them, adding a title that we could potentially put on our LinkedIn profiles. The Inspiration Our first task was the capture the photograph we were going to extract our colors from, which I mentioned above.
